FSSAI Releases Updated Manual of Methods of Analysis for Meat and Meat Products
Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has released the updated Manual of Methods of Analysis of Foods - Meat and Meat Products. This manual was approved during the 44th meeting of the Food Authority, held on 19th June 2024.
Key Highlights:
- The new manual supersedes the previously issued Manual of Methods of Analysis of Foods - Meat and Meat Products & Fish and Fish Products, which was introduced FSSAI Order No. 1-90/FSSAI/SP (MS&A)/2009 dated 9th January 2017.
- The approved methods in the updated manual are effective immediately.
- All FSSAI-notified laboratories are required to incorporate these new methods into their scope of accreditation within six months of the issuance of this order.
